Or a Juniper firewall or router.

While the SSLVPN will communicate with a client PC via ESP, the connection is negotiated via SSL.

No - the SSL box is used to establish network connectivty and provide authentication - all via SSL. It is not a hardware unit that provides IPSec VPN connectivity like you get from the Juniper Screen OS boxes, CheckPoint, Nortel, Cisco.

Re: 3rd party vpn client to SA4500

The Juniper SSL VPN is designed for temporary remote access to end users-- employees, third parties, telecommuters, etc. As the name suggests, all connectivity is done through SSL, and it is not designed for, nor capable of, permanent site-to-site VPN connections like an IPSEC tunnel to another company as you mention. As Kevin mentions, you'd need a different product like a Cisco router/firewall to do that.
