6611 vpn speed bottleneck

I have 2 of 6611 running in active / standby mode.

Currently we have about 400 concurrent users and potentially triple in the next few months (up to a few thousand users).

The problem is the VPN uplink supports only 1Gb, according to this specs

https://www.juniper.net/us/en/products-services/security/mag-series/mag6611/#specifications

I prefer using active stanby mode.

Are there anyways to address the bottleneck problem?

What are you seeing as a bottleneck? What type of access are you providing?

Re: 6611 vpn speed bottleneck

Hi, we have been running active/standby and SA devices since 2007 with sometimes up to 8000 concurrent users and we have yet to see one SA box go over 500mbps.

The only way I know of breaking that 1gbps barrier is to run active/active cluster then you potenially will have 2gbps throughput

Re: 6611 vpn speed bottleneck

I've seen sites with >10000 users connecting without a bottleneck due to the gigE port.
