JSAM aside, is there a way to remote desktop from an android device?

There are multiple RDP clients available on the Market. You just need an IP connection to the network where the server resides. Pulse isn't quite there yet it would seem. JSAM will most likely never be an option since Android doesn't support Java.

Re: Andorid Support

Thanks. Yeah, the client is not the issue, it is the IP address. Our VPN is SSL only so without an IP, I believe I am limited to JSAM or WSAM, neither of which are going to work.

I'm sure that Pulse will soon support full L3 VPN, at least that is what my Juniper contacts tell me. Hang tight. It'll get there Smiley Happy

Re: Android Support

In response to Anyterp -

Net Connect is in the roles as suggested - I get an IP address on laptops and such via Pulse...just not Android even with root access for Junos Pulse.

User Nahuna in a previous post has indicated he has mulitple rooted phones working fine with L3 VPN - wondering what he has done differently to achieve an IP address assignment.

My errors are same as other recent posts - get a connection to the published web links but no IP gets assigned.

Do we need to be on v 7.1R2 on the Juniper? Any leads from someone that has gotten Pulse to hand out IP would be greatly appreciated

(currently trying to fight FOR Android within our enterprise but losing to iPhones/iPads due to lack of easy VPN setup with Android)

Thanks!

Re: Android Support

hi tspencer, Thank you for the update; unfortunately, I'm not sure then. I know that while it *can* work on rooted devices, it is hit-and-miss depending on the phone make/model/OS. Using the latest may have a positive impact, but I can't say for sure. I'll leave it to others who have seen this work.

Re: Android Support

I have a Juniper tech scheduled for on-site support soon and will hammer him with questions. If I can get this thing going I will be sure to update the group here and let you folks know what was done to get it working.

Really fighting for Android but gotta admit that Apple has them beat with VPN. No answers in Google's code forums on the request and it is almost two years since request was first posted.

Re: Android Support

I've been informed by my Juniper channel SE that support for full VPN will be added on a vendor by vendor basis. It won't be a blanket 'this will work on all devices' sort of thing.

Re: Android Support

Hi,

No point opening a TAC case for this, but on my rooted GSM HTC Desire with SenseUI, Pulse just reboots the handset as soon as you open it, making even the non-L3 options unusable.

Would be nice know what versions this DOES work on.
