Anyone got CWA (Microsoft Office Communicator web access) working via SSL without SAM?

So if i create a resource for the CWA server it comes up with the login page but when i type in my credentials it says

Cannot sign in because your Web browser is not configured to allow cookies from
this Web site. Change your browser's privacy settings and try again.

I have allowed the cookies in my IE 9 settings.

If i use chrome it accepts my creds opens a new window but it says

Your connection was ended. Please sign in again.(Error code: 0-1-484)

and same thing happens if i try again.

You could try allow custom headers on the SA to check if this makes a difference. Also, I believe IE9 is supported to work with the SA in the 7.1R2 release onwards. So maybe checking with IE7/8 would also be good.

allowing custom headers worked. Do you know why it worked?

CWA has extra HTTP headers that are stripped by default on access through the IVE. Adding this policy allows those required headers to be rewritten/used and not dropped. (for more info, please see KB12185 and KB3164)
