Authentication Error 0x80004005 on RDP session from 32-bit Windows OS through SA4500 8.1R7 (build 41041)

Hello

Today we upgrade SA4500 from 8.1R4 to 8.1R7.

Before upgrade system log has next message
[127.0.0.1] System()[] - Program dspwsasehandler recently failed.

After upgrade clients from 64-bit Windows OS connect to RDP link without problems.
Users on 32-bit mashine have authentication Error 0x80004005 when connect to RDP link

Where are problem - on client, 8.1R7 have bug?

Re: Authentication Error 0x80004005 on RDP session from 32-bit Windows OS through SA4500 8.1R7 (build 41041)

Hello llia,

This would be a two part problem. The dspwasasehandler process crash would be a known issue between 8.1R1 to 8.1R6. This issue was resolved in 8.1R7. More information can be found at:

In regards to the 0x80004005 error, this could be partly due to NLA support. In an effort to resolve our previously limitation with NLA support, this is now support in 8.1R7. In the process of supporting NLA, we are leveraging the native RDP client. I did some searching online and found a similar issue reported with the native RDP client. Could you try the following steps and see if this helps resolves your issue?

Another possibility that has been discussed is the issue may be related to having logging enabled. Could you try disable the following option:

Disable logging for terminal services in SA ( Log/Monitoring > Client Logs >
Settings -> Terminal Services)

Hello

We had no time therefore for the fast decision we made rollback.
If the problem appears again we are update to 8.1r7 or newer version.
I check my setting for .rdp file, replace authentication level and add enablecredsspsupport - this works.

Thanks

Any word on this issue?

I upgraded from 8.0R13.0 to 8.1R7.0 and now Windows 7 32-bit machines receive that error when clicking on the RDP link and entering their credentials but Windows 7 64-bit machines can connect without an issue. The RDP link is to another Windows 7 machine.

Prior to the upgrade the Windows 7 32-bit machines were able to connect to the machines in question that now fail.

Awesome thanks for the update. Just disabled Client Side Logging for Terminal Services for now and that addressed the issue till the next maintenance release to correct the issue.
