Can Host Checker check Adobe and Java

Is there a practical way for host checker to verify that adobe and java are patched to the latest version? So far I have not found an ideal way of doing this.

Thanks!

Re: Can Host Checker check Adobe and Java

Could you set up a "File" host check that verifies the executable and it's MD5 checksum. That would change with each version. If there are multiple patched versions, it could get to be a pain checking for all of them..

Not administratively easily. It will require checking for registry or file values. This will need to be updated with each release.
I don't have an IVE in front of me right now to check, but you _may_ be able to check at least one of those with the Shavlik patch checking system. Please note that enabling this will increase the Host Checker time by 2-3+ minutes (minimum). I am fairly certain that Flash can be checked through this; I don't remember seeing Java in this list (but I haven't checked explicitly in the past either).

Host Checker's Patch Assessment feature will be the best fit for this requirement.
