I am running v7.0 of our SA appliances and I seem to have very slow launch times for my Citrix sessions when using the CTS client. I see up to a 20 second delay before the application opens.
We are running Citrix Web interface v5.2 and for the Citrix client it varies depending on some of our home users, but I see the slowness with the 11.0, 11.2 and the new Receiver clients as well so I do not think it is a Citrix issue.
My clients are running Windows 7, XP and Vista and all seem to see the problem, although a majority are WIndows 7.
Anyone else see this issue?
Do you have a JTAC case on it?
How is your CTS configured (profile, listed apps, etc)?
Yes, I have a case open for it. I am waiting for a call back.
I have a Web Resource Profile setup fro my Citrix Web Interface site using the correct settings. I am using non-Java ICA with Web Interface, CTS, SSO and used the correct settigns for each.
I also have imported the Rewrite filter for Citrix Web Inteface and configured it accordingly.
We have multiple SA boxes and the issue seems to be consistent with multiple sites. I am using 7.1 R5 and also 7.0 R1, but the issue is present on both versions. I see it with Windows 7 clients more than I do on Windows XP.
I installed the latest version of Firefox onto my Windows 7 workstation and that does not have the issue. The CTS client and Citrix session run very quickly and there is no delay. The problem seems to be with Windows 7 and IE.
I am running the 32 bit version of the IE browser, but I am running IE 8 and not 9 so I can try to upgrade and see if that helps
That seems to be fixed in 7.1R6:
win-term-svcs-other - On a Windows 7 machine, the Juniper WTS client takes an additional 10 seconds to
establish a connection to the server. (697176)
Funny, I was on a call with support and he said that anything under 10 seconds is considered acceptable by Juniper and not an isue. He didn't say anything about 7.1 R6.
The documentation states the issue that 7.1R6 addresses the WTS client taking longer than expected, but so far it seems to have resolved my CTS issue. I am still testing, but it looks good so far.
