Clustering with different hardware (SA-2000 and SA-2500)?

We have a single SA-2000 and want to purcahse a new model (SA-2500) to set up as an HA cluster. Will this work, or do I need two new systems of the same type to set up a cluster?

What happens when I go to update the OS? Will I have to dissolve the cluster each time?

Re: Clustering with different hardware (SA-2000 and SA-2500)?

Clustering may be at same platform such as (SA6500 clusters).
About upgrading clusters, there are 2 situations below:
1) with central manager, Central Manager will detect and instruct nodes in the cluster to upgrade themselves automatically.
2) without central manager,
disable the clustered nodes, upgrade each node individually, and after the nodes reboot, re-enable them in the cluster.

"May" be the same platform, or "must" be the same platform?

Can an SA2000 and an SA2500 be part of the same cluster?

Sorry, they are not the same SSL VPN Platform,

so you can't bundle them in the cluster.

note: The SA2500 can be purchase in cluster pairs (two-unit cluster).

Re: Clustering with different hardware (SA-2000 and SA-2500)?

Just buy 2x SA 2500 and sell or trade-in the old unit.

Alternatively aquire a SA 2000 if possible.

Clustering hardware must always be the same.
