Controlling Pulse client startup - we'd like to to behave more like NC, using the "Start" button

When we logon to our Juniper SA4500 with a role using Network Connect (NC), the user gets a home screen with a "Start" button for NC. Their VPN connection is initiated when they press the "Start" button.

We would like to have the same kind of behavior with Junos Pulse. There are three connection options:

  • Manually by the user -- in this case the home page "Start" button will launch the Junos client...but no connection will be made until the user opens the Junos Pulse UI and initiates the connection
  • Automatically after user logs on - in this case, as soon as the user logs into their machine (A Windows laptop, in our case) the Junos Pulse client connects automatically.
  • According to location awareness rules: -- not relevant to our situation because you can't make a rule based on whether or not the user has logged into the SA4500

Any ideas?

I am on 7.0r3 and i have the option of displaying Pulse exactly like you mentioned, on the page and user clicks start to intiate. You can also configure pulse to automatically come up after the user logs into a computer and then simply just enters their UN and PW directly into pulse without having to visit the SA website for login.

My system also behaves like Mike's. User gets a start button next to Junos Pulse. Clicking it connects the pulse client. It appears to use the same session that the web browser initiated.
