I have an environment with 4 SA-6000's running release 7.1R3 and have recently started having some issues with load distribution in my environment. For reasons not worth going in to because it is indefensible to smart people I am being forced to use load balancers that are only looking at the first octet of the incoming address and building what amounts to a Class A sized sticky. Could my connections survive without stickies?
FYI, testing seems to say it can as I often take nodes out of service allowing connected people to gracefully age out and this has never caused a huge number of dumped sessions. Still technical assumptions are a flimsy defense when facing institutionalized craziness that allows load balancing like this and I need to do a little better then best guess.
