Does Pulse Connect Secure support V-motion ? in ESXi

PPS & Vmoton

Does anyone know does this product supports v-motion in VMware ?

I’m undertaking a proof of concept and am considering some design options.

  • Using a single virtual appliance and v-motioning this when our Datacenters failover
  • Using a Cluster of virtual appliances ( more expensive and the devices need to have inconsistent configuration for this design )
  • Using 2 virtual appliances ( not favoured as configurations could become in consistent )

I'm not sure if the support is official or not.  But I have used vmotion on the virtual appliance versions moving them from one vmware cluster member to another during maintenance and upgrades.

I don't stretch clusters between datacenters however.  And run two separate appliances on different clusters in the two locations to avoid all shared fault domains.  this does require manually keeping changes in the the configurations in sync.
