ESAP support for Symantec.cloud?

Looks like the Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection is not being detected by the latest ESAP 2.1.4. Looks like a possibly older variation is detected - Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection".

Is there a way to find out when Symantec.cloud Endpoint Protection will be supported. This is currently preventing quite a few of our contractors from connecting.

John

Hello John,

It looks like this issue has been reported to our partner and we are waiting for a response back when this will be implemented.

Re: ESAP support for Symantec.cloud?

What is the verision of Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection?

If you are running on version - Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection 2.02, the yes - there is a reported issue on the FSRTP retrieval.

To detect FSRTP for this product it needs admin rights and UAC should be off. Could you please login as an admin and turn off UAC and check if that helps?

Currently - our vendor OPSWAT is working on a way to see "if" they can enhance the RTP check without admin rights.

We will kee you updated with the new ESAP is released with this fix.

Enough already!

This is a support forum not your personal marketplace. Please stop digging up old messages just so you can advertise your product.

Re: ESAP support for Symantec.cloud?

We at OPSWAT are aware that consumption of OESIS Framework updates by Juniper (and other partners) for inclusion in Hostchecker features released to end customers can be painful for Juniper and for its customers.

We are committed to releasing OESIS more frequently (currently weekly, with a goal of daily updates by end of 2014) and to make it easier for Juniper to validate OESIS releases and incorporate into their packages.

In addition, OPSWAT recently released a configurable client, GEARS, which auto-updates OESIS and stores endpoint device compliance status in the Windows Registry or Mac OS p-list.

The Host Checker can access and use this information through implementing either a (1) the  default Antivirus Rule or (2)  a  custom process / registry checks.

A Hostchecker-GEARS configuration guide is posted at http://files.cdn.opswat.com/www.opswat.com/files/gears-integration/integrate-juniper-ssl-vpn-opswat-...

Using GEARS together with Hostchecker should reduce the number of issues you encounter with your end users being blocked due to their running an unrecognized endpoint security application.
