Exchange Ports

Hi,
I have many laptop/tablet users that use the fat client version of Outlook through Network Connect. I have been to all of the Microsoft KB articles explaining what ports to open and still have had no luck on locking it down very well. Does anyone have a list of ports that they have opened up on their Exchange box that proves to work sucessfully.
Thanks!

Re: Exchange Ports

What version of Exchange and Outlook? It may not be possible. Although I know of registry changes to force certain ports, I don't think you can do it to all ports. Good old Microsoft still likes to do random ports.

Re: Exchange Ports

You have two options:
1. When using the normal connection from outlook to exchange open all high ports as dynamic port numbers will be used.
2. Set up an environment to use RPC over HTTPS, then you will only need to open port 443 but this will also mean that you will be sending a https tunnel with RPC in it over your https network connect tunnel...

Re: Exchange Ports

The Exchange server can be set to use static ports.

Re: Exchange Ports

I use the RPC-over-HTTPS configuration with JSAM and it works fine. But you can also do RPC-over-HTTP and avoid the double encryption.
