FQDN question

I have a SA 6500 cluster.

I changed the FQDN of the primary node yesterday. My question is, can the backup node have the same FQDN or does it need to be different?

Note: This is not changing the hostname of the cluster itself.

Thanks in advance,

Re: FQDN question

Hi,

The back up node needs to have different hostname as the hostname used to reference each node should be different

For example  sa1.acmegizmo.com is for node1 and resolves to node1's external IP

sa2.acmegizmo.com is for node2 and resolves to node2's external IP

the external VIP IP will resolve to the URL users use to access the cluster and not the individual nodes.

DNS needs to be setup for these mappings as well.

Regards,

Jay

Re: FQDN question

Where did you change it? For access/cert-based access or are you referring to the hostname field on system>network>overview? That hostname field can be the same across nodes (and good idea); however, it does not impact how users connect
