So, for the second option, I would create an internal DNS record (a CNAME) for the resource and point the bookmark to the internal CNAME record instead of the A record for my intranet?

That document is so vague, its ridiculous.

We almost have a modified doc for PTP which is due to be published. Untill then the old one is the public facing doc.
