Forced upgrade of Windows VKL 8.0 to 8.1 brakes Junos

HI

For some reason Microsoft started forcing Windows 8 users with VLK licences to upgrade to 8.1 through Windows Update. I am not quite sure yet why.
I have a bunch of users on 8.1 and with problems. Most of them I can fix pretty easy but there is the elephant in the room named Junos.

Namely, if you upgrade from 8 to 8.1 without removing Junos first, your VPN is broken forever. I even found a Junos KB entry that basically confirms this

Is there a fix?

I know that Windows 8.1 comes with a built-in Junos VPN client but last time I checked
our Telekom's VPN does not support that (yet?).

Hope you guys know something, this is kind of important.

The KB article mentions that this issue cannot be fixed.

As mohd.rafi84 confirmed from the KB, this is a limitation on Windows

FYI Forced upgrade of Windows VKL 8.0 to 8.1 brakes Junos

FYI

As you know we had a problem with Junos and Windows 8.0 that was upgrade to Junos 8.1 with the Junos client installed , which lead to an unrepairable Junos installation.

But this seems to be solved with the latest Junos version (5.07), one of our consultants tested this version on a broken Windows 8.1 Junos installation and it seems to repaired the Junos client.
