Will 'VIPRE Antivirus Business 5.x' be support in the next ESAP version?
Hello,
ESAP 1.8.1 is released and the below are the download links. I have checked for VIPRE 5.X support on the same and I dont see that added to the supported products list. However, you can upgrade to ESAP using the below link.
Proposed next action plan: Please open a JTAC ticket to support this.

Vipre is a standard anti-virus program used by our organization. We have implemented Juniper SSL VPN with a Host Checker enabled to detect this anti-virus on the users' host PC, we had to turn off the Host Checker because we started to get many complains from the users the Host Checker failed on Vipre 5.x. I just wonder whether the Host Checker option has any usefulness.
Trusting Juniper will release the support for Vipre 5.x on their next release of ESAP (which is 1.81) soon since they aware of this problem as early as October 15, 2011. Unfortunately, the ESAP 1.81 release on Nov 30 2011 still didn't include this support... meaning that I have to tell my users to wait longer and put my organization VPN at risk.
I have been told by my Management to start looking into Microsoft Forefront UAG product.
Where did you get the information that it would be in ESAP 1.8.1? Do you have a JTAC case on this? The most efficient way to make sure new versions are added in a timely manner is to open a case with JTAC so we can then work on getting the support added.
Juniper just released 1.8.2 and added the support for GFI Vipre 5.x. Unfortunately, uploaded and activated the 1.8.2 on our Juniper, users still getting the Failed Host Checker message... can you explain what's going on.
Unfortunately, I cannot. It is possible there is some other restriction that is needed to be bypassed. Does this happen for both admin and non-admin users?
Are you checking for specific AV updates? If yes, are you downloading them automatically on the device or doing the updates manually?
The best approach will be to work with JTAC to see if we can determine what is happening.
