I bought an SA 3000 from ebay and when I booted it up I saw all of the companies data on there who it was originally from, so naturally I factory reset it not knowing that there was a license key. My question is, what can I do now? is there anywhere that I can get a free license from? or am I pretty much screwed?
You can always contact customer support. They help get your issues like licenses and ownership of equipment registered. The technical support center requires a contract or the warranty period. But your issue here is just with registration of the device and the association of the license.
When you go to open a ticket there are two options
Customer Care for issues like this
Technical support for problems or configuration issues
You will actually need to follow the procedure outlined at http://www.juniper.net/support/inspection_reinstat
Also worth noting is that the current software version (7.1) is the last one that will run on any of the SA2000, SA4000 or SA6000 appliances, as they are end of life products.

You should open a customer care case on the support site and provide the serial number of the box. Once they verify with the original registrant the sale they should be able to associate the device and license with your account.

Thx for the quick reply. Can I still contact support if I just have a standard account with no devices on support?
