We recently upgraded to version 7.0R4 and have had some users get the error hccutil.dll is not found - reinstalling may resolve issue when the Host Checker should be running. I'm wondering if anyone else may have seen this error and if there is something that can be done to prevent it from occuring? Thanks for any tips.
Going to bump this up to see if anyone has any insight on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks
Is there any continuity for those who experience this from those who do not? Did you upgrade ESAP recently?
Does the client system/events/application log show anything?
The issue only seems to appear on one of our links. The fix has been to uninstall and reinstall the Host Checker software and then they are able to connect in again but eventually it comes back again. I opened a case with support and they need the registry changed and logs captured so I trying to get that information from someone who is patient enough to stay broken. I upgraded the ESAP in the hopes that it would fix the issue but it did not help.
I had not looked in the MS logs.
Here is what shows up in the event log.
Hi!
Recently upgraded to from 6.5 to 7.0 and some of my users are now experiencing this problem. Any soultions/hints?

FYI - It doesn't appear you can post with IE 9.
We are still having the issue. I opened a case with support but they have been unable to help me find the root cause. I've done a webex showing the error 1st hand and uploaded the logs requested. I just uploaded a winaudit log for them yesterday in the hopes that sheds some light.
This is what I've discovered while trying to find a solution:
I don't know if any of the options will provide a permanent solution to the issue but it has gotten the user back up and running. It would be nice to figure out what is actually causing the problem.
Do you have any updates from JTAC on the issue. We have similar issues .
We hae the same issue here with a SA2500 running 7.0R6 which we just upgraded from 6.3R6.1 which worked without issue for years.
However we have the pluginClient.dll going missing. I suspect its the same issue you are having as files just dont delete themselves . We have Symantec Endpoint v11 installed and it is not reporting any issue with the file. I re-installed host checker and then ran AV over it and it doesnt find an issue with the file, so i dont think its AV.
This has occured on a W7 Pro x64, W7 Pro x32 and XP x32 so i am assuming its not an OS issue given the range of OS's by where the issue is occuring.
I have raised a JTAC case for it, so hopefully they will be able to provide some assistance, but without a machine currently in front of me with the issue, it may be somewhat problematic. I've emailed out to the users who have SSL and asked them to try it again hoping that someone has the issue also that may be able to drop their machine in for me to play with.
Will report back with any findings as it seems like this is not an issolated issue.
Are you still having the missing hcUtil.dll issue? We now have an open case on it and it is growing to be a frustrating problem. Clearly it has bene going on since mid- Feb at leat based on this board. Has anyone gotten a resolution from Juniper on this yet?
