Host checker failed to start

I cannot login to my work VM machine because my pulse secure certificate has expired. When I try to start Pulse secure. is there anyway I can re-issue or renew the certificate. People say run

sudo apt ca-certificates 

I am getting an error but is there an equivalent in macOS thanks

If you are talking about the hostchecker cert has expired, you have to wait for a update from Pulse.
