How to view log for SSL-VPN client events on SA-6500

Hi All,

We are running our SSL-VPN Client service on Juniper SA-6500. Ever since we upgraded the firmware of the box, we started experiencing SSL-VPN drops for client vpn connections. I am new to the Junipers and I would like guidance from this forum to tell me where do I go inside the GUI to view event logs which would show why these client connections are being dropped.

Thank you,

Adil

Hello Adilnas,

What client are you using? In most cases, the logs would exist in C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Juniper Networks/Logging. There should be a debuglog.log and a debuglog.log.old (if they have rolled over). This is the main location for all of the Juniper components.

The client-side logs referred to by Kita will have a lot of low level details about the client-side components, there are logs on the SA at System > Log/Monitoring which are worth checking first as it will be a more general entry about the disconnect reason.

Search for the user's username in the User Access logs to find the disconnect reason as reported by the SA and also check the Event log around the disconnect period in case anything at a system level is causing disconnects. If those do not show the reason then client-side logs will help in finding out what is happening from the client's perspective.
