Junos Pulse Mobile Security Suite

So... Work in PROGRESS?

I purchased a license for 50 users on the portal and so far I am scratching my head...

This after I was told over and over again that advanced Pulse client connectivity A-la "CA Mobile Security" with parental controls was a license ran on the SA appliance and sold as the MSS 50 Skew... Unfortunate for I already had a portal page with access to accounts for demo puposes, now I have two...

I am running on a Droid with Android 2.2.1 and Pulse Client 2.0.2.8851

Any "Handset GPS location" under "Device / Commands" IF it works returns 0.0.0.0 for cordinates. Setting the phone "Monitor and Control Settings" for 15 minutes GPS locations doesn't fire off.

EDIT - "GPS Theft On" under device command works and returns proper cords for Google Maps Overlay. - EDIT

Application Revocation does not work. When used on the "Command Revocation" Tab it just goes to a blank "Done" HTML page. When ran from the device commands and entering in the application to revoke a view at my "Command History" tab would indicate that the command was, Eh Hem, "processed", but the application remains. It does however list the applications on my phone, so that's neat I guess................

Pictures are not viewable on the phone.

TXT messages don't seem to track 100% of the time and "retrieve" TAKES FOREVER...

Obviously firewall isn't support on Android, so it's not there.

Virus finds that are listed when Spyware? is found don't report on the Portal. Or... There is no Spyware tab.

Software Update Reports don't poplulate ont he Portal.

Couple things I have gotten to work are Virus Scans and Spyware Scans... Funny how "CA Mobile Security" is both a Virus and Spyware. Smiley Surprised)

Handset Backup says it works, but there is now way it's backing up the entire contents of my mobile device so I am kinda curious what it is in fact backing up.

My contacts list is present.

Device Commands for the most part seem functional, E.G. Phone Lock, GPS Location although it returns bogus information, Alaram On and Off <- Volume doesn't effect this, NEATO,

Re: Junos Pulse Mobile Security Suite

Mark,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the JUNOS Pulse Mobile Security Suite.  You have several issues and concerns that I am responding to.  I will reach out to you directly so we can get support cases opened for any outstanding issues.

"This after I was told over and over again that advanced Pulse client connectivity A-la "CA Mobile Security" with parental controls was a license ran on the SA appliance and sold as the MSS 50 Skew...  Unfortunate for I already had a portal page with access to accounts for demo purposes, now I have two..."

The CA Mobile SecurityÓ is a licensed version from Computer Associates (Partner) and is different than using the JUNOS Pulse Mobile Security Suite.  It appears the information you received was incorrect which is why you have separate accounts and thus have two different logins.  I encourage you to use your demo account/software (JUNOS Pulse) as I do see your org listed on the console.  The "CA Mobile Security" app is more for the individual consumer market.

"Any "Handset GPS location" under "Device / Commands" IF it works returns 0.0.0.0 for coordinates.  Setting the phone "Monitor and Control Settings" for 15 minutes GPS locations doesn't fire off.

EDIT - "GPS Theft On" under device command works and returns proper cords for Google Maps Overlay. Ð EDIT"

There are two GPS commands:  GPS Theft ONÓ and Handset GPS LocationÓ.  The former is for when the phone has been lost/stolen and it will enable GPS if disabled, send GPS updates to the server every 2 or 3 minutes.  This appears to be working for you.  WhatÕs not working is the Handset GPS LocationÓ.  Please confirm.

"Application Revocation does not work.  When used on the "Command Revocation" Tab it just goes to a blank "Done" HTML page.  When ran from the device commands and entering in the application to revoke a view at my "Command History" tab would indicate that the command was, Eh Hem, "processed", but the application remains.  It does however list the applications on my phone, so that's neat I guess................"

Application Revocation is not supported on Android devices as indicated in the Supported Platforms doc.  However, the fact that you get a blankÓ page is a bug and has been filed previously.  For tracking purposes, the Problem Report (PR) is 579438.  We can get a case opened for you once we speak.

Supported Platform Doc:

"Pictures are not viewable on the phone"

Please elaborate here.  Only new pictures taken after registration will appear.

"Virus finds that are listed when Spyware? is found don't report on the Portal.  Or...  There is no Spyware tab."
This is currently by design.  Only found viruses are reported and spyware is removed silently as well as Spam.  This will change in a future releases (TBD).

"Software Update Reports don't populate on the Portal."

This will only populate if the gateway was updated and a new client was pushed out to the devices.  We are currently not pushing out devices as they are available on the individual markets so this portion can be ignored and will likely be removed in future revisions

"Handset Backup says it works, but there is now way it's backing up the entire contents of my mobile device so I am kinda curious what it is in fact backing up."

Backup only backs up contacts and appointments.

I will reach out to you via email for teh GPS issue and to clear up any more issues you may have.

Kind Regards,
