Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

Hey Everyone!

I'm looking for an answer on the MAX resolution available in a HTML5 RDP session.

Reason: MAC (Apple) users that have a high resolution capable monitor are being limited to 1920 x 1080.

Troubleshooting: I connected to a Corporate Desktop PC using a 27" iMac and could only achieve a 1920 x 1080 resolution
Next, I tried a Lenovo Yoga 3 which has insane resolution of 3400+ by something also ridiculous yet it also maxed at 1920 x 1080 in HTML5 RDP

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Side Note: Anyone else have a painful experience searching the forums?
More than half of the links I found in the search result lopped me back to the Forum Home page...VERY frustrating!

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

That 1920x1080 is the limit (per admin guide)

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

Thank you for that answer.

I inadvertently left out that I'd like to know if this is a limitation of the Pulse Hardware/Software, or is this a limitation of the current HTML5 RDP Protocol itself.

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

I also encountered this issue. When I use Macbook Pro (default screen resolution is 2560 x 1440 ) to connect HTML5 remote desktop through pulse secure, the screen is squashed.

I am sure that this is not a limitation on HTML5 protocol. I have used another HTML5 RDP product called Ericom AccessNow. It perfectly fit my screen of my Macbook Pro.

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

I found a KB related to this issue.

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

You know, a statement like "it's the limit since the admin guide says so" is completely unacceptable.

I don't know why this should be a limit (it's neither a limit of RDP or a current version of Guacamole). Maybe it was with Guacamole 0.9.9 (which is about 2 years old!) which still seems to be used in this product. A little update to that part certainly wouldn't hurt...

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

just found this thread. KB stated here is not available, there is other one "HTML5 Known issues"

https://kb.pulsesecure.net/articles/Pulse_Secure_Article/KB40305

where we can see:

KB40470Resolution size behavior with HTML5 AccessWorking as designed

reference to same article which is not available and in fact refers back to KB40305..

my question is - does we have any changes on this in 2020? is it possible to enable auto-resize to browser tab size which works fine in guacamole. is there some settings tunes for that, as 1920x1080 looks "a bit" outdated.

thanks!

Re: Max Resolution for HTML5 RDP?

I would avoid using Pulse now for this. Their support for HTML5 is subpar with constant disconnects and poor quality.

Just deploy Guacamole itself. Youll have a much better time
