Maximum connections from a single IP address

Is there a limit to the number of connections that can be made from a single source IP address? We have a large group of users at a hotel for a conference and some are getting an error message "Too many connections from this IP address" when they try to connect to the SA. The firewall and load balancer team says its not them so it must be the Junipers. I am not convinced.

SA-6500

7.3r3

Thanks.

Re: Maximum connections from a single IP address

Hi,

There is no limit on the SA/MAG as we differentiate based on session ID cookies.

It is quite normal to have multiple connections from a single NAT'ed public IP address to the SA.

Regards,

Jay

Re: Maximum connections from a single IP address

Do you see any corresponding messages in the event log or the user access log?

No errors, denied connections, or unusual disconnects reported in in either of the logs.

Re: Maximum connections from a single IP address

Thanks for the response. I didn't think there would be a limit and we have never had complaints in the past - even after Hurricane Sandy when remote access was the only way many people could reach our New Jersey/New York centric business.

As is often the case, the problem resolved itself (read: somebody fixed the problem but doesn't want to admit to it).

Thanks again.
