Multiple logins

I'd see this problem more as a security feature. As this is a RAS solution it is not that typical to have one user logging in from two places the same time.

For sure it might be more comfortable to e.g. allow on a per realm basis a user to login more often, but then the question would be as already mentioned the ccu licensing thing, because those user must be counted n times then.

I agree with what you're saying but it should be a configurable option. This is the first VPN I've worked on that doesnt allow multiple sessions. Sometimes its needed. Its a security risk to have to create multiple id's for one user.

I was able to do this by using a secondary authentication. The primary authentication is anonymous, and the secondary is LDAP (or whatever). When primary is set to anonymous, it sets a unique id for each user so you can login multiple times. THe problem with this approach is that you can't save bookmarks and the like. A compromise I could live with.

The other negative is that the secondary login does not display the "Welcome" text that is normally displayed on the login screen. I had to create a custom secondary login page to display help text there. A pain I wish they would fix.

Or let your muscles play and ask Juniper for an FE on making the number of multiple logins configurable on a per realm basis.

There have been a number of suggestions here for how to do multiple logons. Certainly, all of us - I think - would be in favor of having Juniper make multiple logins configurable.

However, it seems from the thread that you have as much of an issue with having to have a license for each of the sessions initiated by the same user. I can't imagine Juniper counting multiple sessions by the same user ID as one concurrent session for licensing purposes.

Talk to your sales guy about the problem, and tell him or her that you would get rid of the Cisco if you can solve this issue. Maybe there is a way that additional licenses could get some discount.

But aren't the concurrent? The Cisco VPN3k, e.g. also counts users logged in twice as two concurrent users. How this may affect the licensed concurrent users is maybe something different, but then concurrent users != licencensed concurrent users.

I do not no if this is the same issue, but we have the same issue and wanted to run it passed you. The problem we are having is end user (EU) are getting in past the Juniper boxes then getting kicked out, when they re-login comes up with a sussion already in progress click continue in read mode or start new seession this will happen on any user so not specific. We have lookled into the relam issue and failed over to to a different box but still get the same issue after some testing, to try a resolve the issue we did some investigating into the Host checker (CC) and cache cleaner (CC). After not using these files on the test system we created we failed to get the issue which was really bad it was reduced to 1 in 20 failers we are using version 5.5R2 windows operating system is win 2k sp4 we are running out of ideas as to what else we can try we need to keep the HC & CC running on the box so for the live users they are still getting the issue. Does anyone else no if this could be code related? or something else?
