Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

Thanks, IPvFletch!
In addition to that this is not yet a client that is supported, I don't believe we have received reports of not being able to tunnel traffic after a few minutes. For those of you experiencing this, please open a case with JTAC. The changes in safari plugin architecture does preclude Network Connect (and other clients) from launching via the browser until "unsafe mode" is enabled to allow pre-6.1/7.0 plugin behavior for the VPN site.

I've also tried Junos Pulse 4.0R5 and 3.1.4.32787. Both stop forwarding traffic after a minute. Bummer.

Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

FYI thought this may help some with the intermittent disconnects.

It appears there is some unexpected behavior with a new security feature on OSX
10.9. I just wanted to point it out as a new
behavior in OSX 10.9. See info here: http://blogs.citrix.com/2013/10/31/citrix-on-osx-10-9-mavericks/

Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

Hi

Mavericks 10.9 clients being disconnected after a few minutes - I got it working now but with the Pulse client. The new Pulse client actually work for Mavericks 10.9 also for Mavericks installations that didnÕt work with Network Connect.

The tricky thing for me while testing was that if Network Connect has been running then it will also mess up Pulse (maybe also other network related applications). So Network Connect needs to be uninstalled, then install Pulse and reboot - just to be sure.

I havenÕt seen Mavericks and Pulse loosing network connectivity since :-)

I have tested with Pulse version 4.0.6.40675 that comes with j-sa-7.4r6.0-b27757-package.pkg

Best Regards

The Citrix "fix" worked for me. Running Pulse 4.0.5. The recommended change from Citrix is all I made and now the networking doesn't stop working after a minute. Ran apps via Pulse VPN for almost an hour with I issue.

Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

Hello Seno & Malinux,

According to the Apple forums, it looks like this would only occur in a Gateway load balancing (GLBP) environment where the mac address of the gateway is changing between different devices.  Does the following scenario match your enivronment?

It looks like Maverick is sending a ARP request to the previous learned MAC address of the gateway.  After 5 retries, it will finally send a ARP broadcast where it learns the new mac address.  It seems this will cause a disruption on the ssl channel and cause the reconnect.

Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

Just a quick note about my experience since subscribing to this thread:

I'm not sure of our IT department's setup, but I have a tendency to drop/reconnect VPN a lot, often rapidly.  I've discovered that first, I always have to start and stop Network Connect through the Juniper site in Safari (with the requisite Run Unsafe Mode modifications).  Second, often I'll find the safari Java Applet and a child Java process with the Juniper SA's domain in the name hanging around for up to 10-15 minutes later.  If I try to start Network Connect in any way while these processes are running, I get duplicates and routing dies after a few minutes.  Once NC gets into this state of not routing after a few minutes, I have to uninstall the client, reboot, and reinstall via Safari again to get things corrected.

Re: Network Connect Issue with OS X Mavericks, Safari 7.0 and Java 7 Update 45

I can confirm that Junos Pulse Mac OS X Edition 4.0R6 works on Mavericks. Been connected for about an hour now with no connection drop. I recommend this for Network Connect users who can't stay connected.
