Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

On my SSL VPN appliance v 7.3r7, I've noticed a strange message when lauching Network connect through SSL VPN web interface (using Safari on a Mac OS-X 10.8):

This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute. Please contact the Publisher for more Information.

Do you know a version of Juniper SSL VPN which is not affected?

Regards,

Vincent

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

No, it is not possible to suppress these as they are from the JRE itself.
Juniper is investigating options to see if the applets can be modified to not trigger these warnings.

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

Yup, plus on Windows & Linux machines as well. While it is irritating, there should be no loss of functionality...and at least oracle provided warning about upcoming enforcement rather than suddenly enforcing it

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

This problably isn't the place to ask, but is there any way to suppress, for a given url/app, the warnings? My customers (well, some of them) have already asked about these warnings. I, personally, would love to suppress these warnings because I'm in-and-out of several different SSLVPNs more times per day than most people. And with all of these extra tabs and clicks, the batteries in my keyboard and mouse aren't going to last as long.

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

Thanks, I wasn't actually trying to limit the warnings only from the Juniper code....

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

This is fixed in 7.1R15 (for the SA2000) according to the release notes.

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

Of course, if you're running 7.3, you are either on a SA x500 or MAG box.   check the release notes for the last two release for your platform.

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

I'm running the sa4500 7.3R3 and got the same error message on any browser I tried on MAC...

Any update on which version is not affected by the new Java update?

Thanks!

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

The release notes say that it was fixed in 7.4R4. Be that as it may, Firefox 24 (on Fedora 19 i686) still complains about Network Connect. I haven't run the Pulse client from Windows 7 so I can't help you there. Checking the notes for 7.3, they fixed some in R7 and more in R8.

Re: Network Connect / Java Manifest issue

Hi ,

Refer http://kb.pulsesecure.net/KB28264 for this issue.

The kb will be updated once we have confirmation on the codes which will contain this fix.

Jay
