Network Connect virtual adapter hardware address changes on reboot.

Can anyone tell me why the hardware address changes for the Network Connect virtual adapter on every reboot? Also, is ther any way to assign a permanent MAC? I'm wondering because it is causing some issues with a piece of software that reviews the BIOS, HD serial number(s) and MAC addresses when it launches. Since the MAC is different, the software locks and the vendor has to be called.

We've had the same issue and I didnt manage to get it fixed. When you change the mac-address manually it doesnt help cause on every reboot it changes automatically.

I'm not sure the technical reason, but I *believe* it is tied to making sure the MAC is unique (I could be wrong; it's been a couple years since I last tried to find out).

as rdit pointed out, this is working as designed, currently. Are you seeing another vendor doing this? To have Network Connect do this, you will need an enhancement request.
