Newbie configuration question

I picked up an open-box SA2500 on eBay and am trying to get a feel for how it's going to work for us before I spend a lot of dough on licenses. From what I can tell, the bare box comes with 2 session licenses. Under "Users" I have only "User Realms" and "User Roles", but shouldn't I also have Resource Profiles? Might that be missing because I haven't bought licenses yet? At one point I was able to get to a resource profile through the User Roles menu, and I can see what I started to create, but when I select it (logged in as admin), I get Access Is Denied, OR if I click on one of the profiles I started to create, the UI just sends me back to the system status screen. Could this also be a licensing issue? I would think it would say something about that in the logs, but the only entry there that has anything to do with licensing at all is that I don't have a license for the External interface.

Re: Newbie configuration question

Without a license the box is pretty much next to useless. I would contact a Juniper reseller that you work with and ask them to arrange to get you a short term temp license. Knowing that you will need to buy a license and maintenance they should be glad to accomodate you with a temp license so that you can try the box out and see the features.

Re: Newbie configuration question

I'll give that a shot, thanks. I was beginning to wonder if I was going insane. I can get some resource profiles created, and part of that process creates bookmarks, but if I tell it to show me the bookmarks (which I can plainly see in the "Resource Profiles: All" view, it says there aren't any. I had assumed that the 2 user licenses it shows by default would allow me to get somewhere, but apparently not.
