Newbie question - SA 4500 - IDP sensor is going down!

hi all

newbie question - I have an IDP sensor configured under 'System > Configuration > Sensors > Sensors', and I want to know what will happen if I just delete that sensor (can't find the answer anywhere).

The IDP sensor is due to be removed from the topology and I just want to be sure that if I just delete it as above from the SA 4500 configuration, it won't stop the SA 4500 working as before.

Getting a little worried about this as the IDP is due to be removed soon, and I need to be sure that the SA 4500 is not going to grind to a halt, and that users VPN connections will not be affected!

thanks very much in advance for your help.

Re: Newbie question - SA 4500 - IDP sensor is going down!

I've looked at this in our QA environment although never rolled this into production. From what I could make of the configuration, disconnecting the IDP should have no impact (at least didn't in my case). With that said, to be on the safe side, you can probably look at the Sensor Event Policies and set the IDP policy not to apply to any role.
