OPSWAT User Conference

OPSWAT will be having a user conference on May 7, 2010 in San Francisco. the primary focus will be the OESIS Framework, which is used by Juniper for compliance and manageability in Host Checker. Folks from Juniper are already confirmed to be attending. If users of Juniper's products wish to gain insight into some of the foundations of Host Checker, feel free to attend.

While troubleshooting a Host Checker issue, I came across this useful link:

amioesisok.exe provides lots of useful client-side 'Host Checker' information and oesisdiagnose.exe output; I believe this can be submitted to OPSWAT to help recognize/certify new products?

That is correct.

Am I OESIS OK? can be used to report interoperability issues directly to OPSWAT. Also worth noting is that is is just an executable and doesn't install anything on the endpoint.

As for recognizing new products, we always like to encourage people to contact the application vendor directly to get them to submit products to us (for interoperability with Juniper). It works out best for everyone if the vendor adds this into their build process so that OPSWAT, Juniper and Juniper's customers don't have to go chasing them around after they've already issued a new product or update.

Still, we do what we can.

Do you know if there is any guidance on how to pull the product info from oesisdiagnose and create a custom Host Checker policy? I just thought I would ask before I try to reverse-engineer this on my own...
