OSX El Capitan not routing to internal VPN private address

I'm not able to resolve a private DNS when connected to VPN. When I ping the IP directly -- a coworker sent me the ip address -- it times out. A traceroute fails beyond my local gateway.

I see this knowledgebase article:
https://kb.pulsesecure.net/articles/Pulse_Secure_Article/KB16327

It mentions adjusting the dns server priority and mentions the following path: "These options are found under Users > Resource Policies > Network Connect (Pre 7.2)/ VPN Tunneling (7.2 and above) > Connection Profiles > [Profile_name]."

What does this path refer to? I have no Users dropdown menu in my client, and digging through the menus shows nothing similar.

Hello Sean,

This is a configurable option by the PCS administrator. The client does not have control over the DNS priority. Please reach out to the PCS administrator for further details.

Thank you ~ and this was indeed resolved with a change by our administrators. Working now!
