@mike362 I think there was a similar issue reported to Pulse and the fix has been provided is a patched PSAL application. Please open a support ticket with PSAL logs for investigation and to get the fix for testing.

Re: PSAL failed to Launch Java Applet MacOS Catalina 10.15.4

We are running into similar, if not identical issues using a new M1 macMini with Big Sur 11.2.2 (latest at the time of writing).

When trying to launch the Java Applet through the browser on the site where PSAL is distributed by our employer, the application fails with "Pulse Secure Application Launcher could not start Java-Applets" (losely translated from foreign language). The installed Java version is the recommended old Java 8 Build 251:

java -version
java version "1.8.0_251"

We tried the latest version of Chrome and Safari, which both should not support Java Applets anymore, so we also tried Firefox Enterprise ESR 78.8.0, which supports it on our Windows machine at least. All fail with the same error message above. We additionally tried to run all above browsers using Rosetta 2 explicitely, but to no luck. The logs differ in that the "getting" of the parameters worked, but parsing failed. See full log: (The browser crashed here trying to paste the full log without the script environment, so I instead uploaded it off-site...)

Since only the parameters are failed to be parsed, I assume this to be an issue with the configuration of PulseSecure at my employers side. However, similar parameters seem to work on the Windows client. I have no clue and am not used to PulseSecure. If there are any new updates on this issue, or a new version roles out, that I can recommend to my employer, please contact me using the reply feature or using the mail address

Sorry if this is a repeated post, I received an error message posting my earlier response and wanted to be sure.
