Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

Hi all!

I have the following problem: i set up to use GINA in Network Connect tab under my role. ("Install GINA with Network Connect" and "Require NC to start when logging into Windows") and after the successfully installation and starting Network connect on the remote Windows XP machine, I have the following line in the Network Connect client under the "Information" tab: "GINA Plug-In: Not Configured". And of course after Windows XP reboot i haven`t any GINA ineterfaces starts.

My hardware: SA 2000 with 6.1R2-1 (build 13103) and SA 2500 with 6.1R1 (build 12821).

This symptom appears on this two devices with IVE OS higher or equivalent to 6.1 ...

I also try to install the last software version to SA 2500 (6.2R1.0), but the result was the same. Windows XP machine with the last JAVA and without any additional firewalls and etc. The Nework Connect works fine. I didn`t have such problems when i use 5.5 IVE OS Software on SA 2000 ..... but i have to use GINA on SA2500 .... and as you know we can`t use IVE OS Software version on SA2500 less than 6.1 ....

Thank you for your patience guys !!!

Re: Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

I had the same problem. What I did was connect the workstation to my internal network and log onto the domain. Then connect to the IVE and download NetConnect with GINA (make sure you uninstall NetConnect first!). Then I took the workstation to an external connect and it worked fine.

Re: Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

Was this the only work around? What if connecting to the internal network 1st is not an option?

Thx,

Dave

Re: Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

Im having the same issue with a XP client , with a sa-700 & sa-4500 unit .. I've uninstalled NC completely , even removed all registry entries , but no luck.

Note the machine is part of a domain and has cached creds , but has not connected on the LAN to the domain for a while ,although via NC it connects to the domain fine.

any ideas ?

Thnx Ian

Re: Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

if you can log PC off domain launch NC from the desktop and connect. Then right click IE and run as it will cache down good credentials

Re: Problem with GINA installation in Network Connect

yes, this is the only option for GINA (to be a domain machine). credential provider, vista and newer, does allow for login prior to becoming a domain member, however, it is not available on xp
