Problems with windows 7

Hi!

I've just setup an SA4500 and it works great with a windows XP client, but when i try to connect with my windows 7 client it failes with the follow messages:

"connection attempt timed out
nc.windows.app.23704"

If i check "ipconfig /all" i can't find and adapter with the description "Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter - Juniper Network Agent Miniport" on the windows 7 client (Windows xp has one).

Any ideas what could cause this? The box is running 6.5R3

Regards

Freddy

Re: Problems with windows 7

Freddy,

There was a issue on NC creating a duplicate virtual adaptor(packet scheduler miniport) on 6.5 as per following log entries since it comes with Deterministic Network driver "[0012]Smiley Very Happyeterministic Network Enhancer Miniport",

There are two Virtual adapters in this case. Thus NC can not assign the right IP to the right adapter.

00170,09 2009/12/18 11:44:07.407 3 SYSTEM dsNcService.exe dsNcService p2736 t1458 dsNcSys.cpp:334 - 'NCSys' Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter - Teefer2 Miniport MTU = 1200

00151,09 2009/12/18 11:44:07.407 3 SYSTEM dsNcService.exe dsNcService p2736 t1458 dsNcSys.cpp:334 - 'NCSys' Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter MTU = 1200

Work around is to disable the associated virtual adapter as per KB KB7658

If this worked for you please flag my post as an "Accepted Solution" so others can benefit. A kudo would be cool if you think I earned it.

Re: Problems with windows 7

I'm having the same issue, but it's not a matter of the network connect creating a duplicate virtual adapter, our problem is that network connect does not create a virtual adapter at all.

Re: Problems with windows 7

This is the same issue I have right now. I have installed and reinstalled Network Connect, I disabled the firewall, disabled Symantec and the Juniper Network adapter for Network Connect always comes back with the error nc.windows.app.23712.

The systems that do have the VPN up and running I see two network adaptors for Network Connect:

Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adaptor

Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adaptor - Teefer2 Miniport (this is not showing on the laptop that cannot connect.

Has anyone found an solution for this?
