ProperJava RDP client Issue

We are using ProperJavaRDP client for non IE browser clients and it has been working fine for quite a while.  Since the latest Java update to 8u25, clients are reporting that the resulting Terminal Server session window comes up as a small window, and can not be maximized.   I verified the behaviour on a Mac book, when the TS session starts, that window does not have a green plus sign to allow maximizing the window or going to fullscreen.

I found one KB noting similar issues which suggested modifying the Safari security behaviour for our IVE site, but setting it to Allow All, and run in unsafe mode does not fix the issue.  Anyone seeing anything similar with a java based client and the latest java update?

thanks,

Dave

Re: ProperJava RDP client Issue

Dave, I believe I have the same version of Java installed on one of my Macs and I haven't see that issue. I'll double check tonight.

Can you attach a screenshot and indicate what version of the IVE OS / Pulse you are running?

Re: ProperJava RDP client Issue

We are running on IVE version 7.4R9.3

I was able to run a trial version of the Juniper supported RDP client and found that it works fine with the latest java version, so we are trying to get the OK to purchase the license.  I am not sure why OSX chooses to provide the session for ProperJavaRDP in a window that can not be resized, but found if I pass a resolution with the geometry parameter I can create bookmarks that force a particular size window, its just not an ideal setup to have the user picking from several different screen resolutions until they find the one that works best for the monitor they are using.

I dont have a Mac to provide a screenshot today, but its a window that comes up and the green plus symbol is grayed out, no options to resize, or full screen the window.

thanks,

Dave

Re: ProperJava RDP client Issue

Would it be preferable to just set the RDP windows to full screen for your users?

If so you can set the parameter in the HTML for the Hob applet.

<param name="WINDOW" value="<<fullscreen>>">
