When attempting to connect, a dialogue is immediately shown with the message "User input timeout. (Error:1382)". It would then automatically retry, and stay in an endless loop showing this message about every 5 seconds.

I can't remember exactly the version number, it was 5.0.X.

Interesting. I will need to go back and test with other 5.0RX releases. We have done testing with 5.0R13 and 5.1RX versions.

Downloading and installing Junos Pulse 5.1.5.60701 did not work for me. As I'm not a Junos customer does any one have a working version available?

Can you please provide more details on what the current issue is with Pulse5.1R5?

Just so there's no confusion:

The Pulse Secure desktop client 5.1r5.1 was released on Friday, October 2, and it contains a fix for an issue that prevented the client on OSX 10.11 from making a VPN connection when using certificate-based authentication. Please install that version to fix this issue.
