Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Hello!
I work for a new company that uses a Juniper firewall for our corporate VPN. I have a background in IT, so a little familiarity with this process.
I installed the new Pulse Secure client, 5.2.6, on my Windows 10 Pro laptop. I got this client direct from Pulse Secure, not my employer.
Everything works fine.
However, I find the splash screen annoying when I launch the client.
I don't see from the options screen how to disable the splash screen.
Would someone be able to provide me guidance on disabling the splash screen?
I don't have it set to auto-start when I log in to Windows. I disabled that already.
I get the splash screen when I open Pulse Secure.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Hello MJ5150,

If you are utilizing the Pulse 5.2RX with the Juniper SRX, I would suggest contact Juniper Network support. From our understanding, this version is not support by the Juniper SRX product.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Hi kita.

I am unclear what my company is using on the other side of the connection.
I do not believe this splash screen is related to what my company is doing as it started as soon as I installed the client, before I even entered any info about what I was connecting to.
I downloaded the 5.2.6 client from the pulsesecure, net website, installed it, then the splash screen came up when it opened.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Hello MJ5150,

I would recommend contacting the administrator of the device you are connecting to. While I agree the splash screen is not directly related to your companies device, the Pulse client is designed to adhere to the policies configured by the administrator of the device itself.

Any changes to the policy of the client should go through the administrator. As a side note, I can discuss the potential to add this option directly the Pulse UI so the end user can easily doggle this option on/off in a future release.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Adding that as a feature would be nice since it shows up with a fresh install.
I also do consulting work for other companies with Juniper network appliances.
I can see myself having a few different connections queued up in my client.
Not every client I work with has policies in place regarding splash screens and the appearance of the client. I can see them advising me to contact Pulse Secure for resolution on the splash screen since they do not manage that part in their policies.
I checked with the company I am working for now, they do not have a policy in regard to the splash screen. Employees are advised to obtain the client from Pulse Secure, then they provide connection information.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

Hello MJ5150,

Pulse client is only available for administrators of the PCS device. We do not allow end users to download the client directly per the information stated above. While an end user may connect to multiple other device from other companies, the policy set by the initial PCS device.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen

A PCS administrator can disable the splash screen as part of the connection set options, see https://docs.pulsesecure.net/WebHelp/Home.htm#PCS/PCS_AdminGuide_8.2/Pulse Secure Connection Set.htm

" We do not allow end users to download the client directly per the information stated above. "

This is incorrect. It is possible that the situation has changed since the quoted was posted.

Re: Pulse Secure 5.2.6 - disable splash screen (tested on 5.3.2)

Edit your C:\ProgramData\Pulse Secure\ConnectionStore\connstore.dat to include:

machine "settings" {
  splashscreen-display: "false"
}

Use a UNIX line ending capable editor! (Notepad++, PSPad, ...)

PS: Why did you give kudos to somebody who just declined to help you using many words?

is there a similar solution for the macOS client?

I hate splash screens...
