Pulse Secure 9.1.4 breaks network proxy bypass in macOS Catalina 10.15.3, but firefox works

I am running macOS 10.15.3 Catalina, and Pulse Secure 9.1.4. Using a Proxy this has fixed native integration with O365 from Teams, OneDrive and email via Mail or Outlook clients.

However 9.1.4 has broken Safari and Chrome URLs that do not use proxy giving below errors:

Safari's error message: Safari can’t open “safari-resource:/ErrorPage.html” because macOS doesn’t recognise internet addresses starting with “safari-resource:”.

Chrome's error message: ERR_TIMED_OUT

On the other hand as Firefox use its own proxy settings it works fine.

Can integration with Chrome and Safari be fixed, it used to work in 9.1.3?

I have the same issue.

@IT Support Anyone from the dev team working on this?

@redback,

Are you saying that using Pulse Client 9.1R4 breaks the access for bypass sites which do not use proxy? 😕😕

Can you please explain the traffic flow and proxy logic? Does the proxy PAC was pushed from the VPN?

I am aware that the 9.1R4 client has the HTTP PAC file support for Catalina OS - https://kb.pulsesecure.net/articles/Pulse_Secure_Article/KB44312
