Pulse Secure Client settings regarding Connection URLs in Pulse Connect

Hi All,

We have two Pulse Connect devices in two datacenters, one primary and one DR.

When setting up a: Pulse Secure Client --> Connections --> "Connection Name" --> Connections, you get the options to set the following:
- List of Connections
- Attempt most recently connected URL first
- Randomize URL list order

If i configure "List of Connections" like this:
https://URLtoPrimary
https://URLtoDR
... and i have unchecked: Attempt most recently connected URL first + Randomize URL list order.

Does that mean the Pulse Desktop Client will always try the first line (primary) first and then move on to the 2nd (DR)?

Also my second question: What constitutes a success or failure for the Pulse Desktop Client as it connects to these URLs? For example: Suppose the first URL responds fine (Pulse Connect device is online), but the auth server behind it is offline, will the Desktop Client see this as a failure and move on to the 2nd URL?

Thank you very much.

Re: Pulse Secure Client settings regarding Connection URLs in Pulse Connect

Hi skinnieh,

"Does that mean the Pulse Desktop Client will always try the first line (primary) first and then move on to the 2nd (DR)?" --- Yes, That's Right.

"For your second question" --- If the first URL responds fine then pulse won't fallback to the second URL & NO, pulse won't take it as a failure if the backend auth server is offline.

Regards,
Ray.
