Just a quick one for people that don't use the terminal, if you open a finder window and go to Macintosh HD/Library/LaunchAgents/ you can drag the "net.pulsesecure.pulsetray.plist" file out of the folder and move it somewhere else for safekeeping or delete it so it doesn't run on startup.
Sorry if this seems obvious, but it's for the less tech amongst us!
You can do the same with Pulse. PCS supports the IKEv2 protocol and we've had customers use that solution on Windows with success. The only downside is that there is no host check option when using the native vpn clients.
Just food for thought.
Also, it may be good to understand what the real issue is here. Is it that you don't want the client to load and show the splash screen (which is configurable) or is the Pulse Client causing some issue like an inability to connect to a network resource or the internet.

Pulse Secure
The real issue here for me is that I am using Pulse Secure on my home computer (Mac). I sometimes need the VPN to connect to the university system. My wife also uses this computer and has no access and no need for VPN, yet it starts up every time she logs in.
I'll try the suggested fix, but it's really a kludgy solution for something that should be a simple per-user setting in a preference file.
The real issue here is that I have PulseSecure on my personal computer for connecting to the university. My wife also has an account on this computer, but no ability and no reason to run a VPN, yet has to put up with PulseSecure starting up every time she logs into the machine.
It is ridiculous that there is no setting to turn the auto-start off on a per-user basis.

Pulse Secure
Where is it configurable to not show the splash screen.
And yes, there should be an option to not run on startup. There is no reason for a good majority of people.
The first comment at work was how annoying that spash screen is. We don't need an advertisement every time someone logs in.
I totally agree. Anytime a company suggests contacting the account team gives me the image of screaming into a black hole. And this is the response to this criticism I always hear: "We listen to all requests", which from my experience routinely translates to, "Your account manager listens to these requests, passes them on to a large stack of requests on the desk of a product owner out on a group lunch during a week of off-site training, and if we can ever get out from under this heavy load due to acquisition, we'll submit it into our queue of new ideas, and they'll review it for a future release---in 2-3 years. How about that?"
