Reset Password without loosing data

We just canned an employee who setup our Juniper Netscreen 50 VPN. Before he left, he changed the password to the VPN and locked us out. Does anyone know of a way to reset the admin password without loosing all of our settings? I have found "how to" documents, but they don't say whether or not the settings are reset or now.

Hi,

Juniper provides an asset recovery procedure. This involves resetting the device to the manufacturer default. Connect via a console connection and enter the serial number for both username and password. However, make sure you have a backup of the config. Once you execute this command the config will be wiped. If you don't have a backup, I would reconsider this approach unless you want to reconfigure from the ground up.

I don't think that solution is going to be much use. Shabib is talking about SSL VPN & crazyl3gs is talking about a Netscreen 50, ie a Firewall / VPN.
