Hi
I am running a SA2000 with 6.0R1. I am trying to provide our directors with access to a restricted page on our internal sharepoint site. I only want them to be able to access the subsite (eg http://sharepointserver/directors) .
I have used the policy template for allowing access to a sharepoint site but despite setting the URL to the subsite when a director logs on they are presented with the homepage (http://sharepointserver) and not the sub site.
I have also created the policies manually but still get the home page.
Does anyone have any tips or pointers about where I am going wrong?
Thanks
Adrian
Hey Adrian - could you post a screen shot of the policy you are using and also a screen shot of your default Windows file access policies. That would be the first place that I would look at!
I have found the issue. Rather stupidly it was in the role section where I was forcing the users to a custom page. I had incorrrectly set this to be the root of the sharepoint site. All the other policies were set correctly, as soon as I fixed the custom page everything worked. I'm not sure how the windows shares would have helped in this case as it is not a problem accessing the files but traversing web pages.
thanks for the help
Adrian
