SA 4500 Software Upgrade Path 7.1R9 to 8.0R3.2

I am looking to upgrade a standalone SA 4500 from 7.1R9 to 8.0R3.2.  The issue that I am running into is the lack of documentation as to the incremental upgrade process.

I do see that there is a requirement from 7.1R9 to go to 7.1R16 first then upgrade to 8.0R1.

But when I check the release notes for 8.0R3.2 there is no mention of a suggested upgrade path,  My question is can I go from 7.1R9  -> 7.1R16 -> 8.0R3.2 or do I need to go 7.1R9  -> 7.1R16 -> 8.0R1 -> 8.0R3.2 or do I need to take another upgrade path?

Hi ,

I understand your question on upgrade path. Generally R1 releases like 8.0R1, 7.1.R1, 7.4 r1 will only have upgrade paths since they are the Major releases for that version.

Maintenance releases like 8.0R3.2 will not have upgrade paths.

You can follow the below upgrade path

Upgrade SA from 7.1R9 to 7.1R16

Then Upgrade SA directly from 7.1R16 -> 8.0R3.2
