SA 6000 upgrade queries

Hello All,

we are using sa-6000 in A/P currently on version 6.4.

Now we want to upgrade the firmware version to 7.1rx. The queries are:

> do we have to install the client components such as SAM, NC etc after upgrade to 7.1(I suspect we will have to)??

> If yes then the next question is that our users are have restrictions, in that they are not allowed to install anything. So how can we ensure these components get installed and work properly after upgrade??

Quick rsponse will be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Sid.

Re: SA 6000 upgrade queries

Hello Sud and welcome, Yes your users will be prompted to auto upgrade their clients IF that option is enabled, what you can do is go to the installers page and download the installers, then you can push the files to all the users using your patch management utility.

Re: SA 6000 upgrade queries

As SonicBoom indicated, users will need to upgrade their applications to the new version.

You can mitigate this by pre-installing the new binaries through your push system OR making sure that the users have the updated Juniper Installer Service (installed as an admin) to allow any upgrades to go through.

Disabling auto-upgrade on the features that allow it, such as Host Checker, will prevent it from connecting to the new system and deny access using that mechanism
