Curious - why would Radius Accounting have anything to do with the Win8 disconnects? We have found that the disconnects happen mostly on wireless, altho there are some reports of wired. We think it has to do with changes in Win8 that are affected by response time on the users connection. We are on SM360 hardware with 7.3R2 installed in our lab.
One of our customers has the same problem on our SA6500's with the latest firmware (7.3R2)
If they log on to their Windows 2003 server using the SA's build-in RDP functionality, after a short while they will start getting disconnected, followed by an succesfull attempt to reconnect. This cycle repeats about every 1-2 minutes.
We couldn't reproduce this in our office, but from the customers testing it looks like it's concentrated on Windows 8 machines that have been upgraded instead of a new, full install.
The customer did test from different hardware and locations, this doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any help or tips would be appreciated.
Regards,
Jeroen
I'm also seeing this behavior with an SA4000 7.1R8 and SA4500 7.2R7, both FIPS. Only seems to affect Windows 8 clients.
In my case the following was helpful:
Disable in the Wireless Adaper Konfiguration the Funktion "Bluetooth(R) AMP"
We just had a couple users reporting the issue where their Windows 8 RDP sessions are continuously getting disconnected. Has disabling the bluetooth amp worked for any of you?
not really :-(
I thought, this would have fixed the bug but this was/is not the case...
If you take a TCP dump on the client physical port, are you seeing a disconnect/reset sent by the PC?
I am aware of 2 instances being tracked with JTAC for this; unfortunately, we are unable to duplicate this in-house on x32 or x64 systems.
if you have not yet created a case, please do so for JTAC to review the log information and compare with the current cases we are tracking.
Thanks!
Has there been any progress on this issue? I need to upgrade to 7.3, but I'm experiencing the same disconnects on Windows 8 using the CTS and RDP clients. I'm testing with 7.3R2.
For those of you experiencing this, is it on wireless connections only or also wired?
The only scenario that JTAC can replicate is when the wireless signal is weak and it never fails for us on a wired connection. What is the experience seen by those on the board here?
