Re: SA2500 7.1r6 -> Windows 8 RDP and Citrix Proxy

Guys Hi,

It's a big topic i can see and I'd like to inform everyone that I found a fix that works for me perfectly. Not a single time out or drop since I've installed a hotfix from Microsoft:

  • Symptoms: Constant RDP and ICA time outs and disconnects to any network session which goes through the SAM VPN gateway.

  • OS version: Windows 8 Enterprise all updates installed till present day

  • Secure Application Manager (SAM) version: 7.1.8.20737

Resolution:  Microsoft hotfix : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2897602

I hope it works for everyone else that has had this problem so far on Windows 8.

Re: SA2500 7.1r6 -> Windows 8 RDP and Citrix Proxy

Heya mate,

Yes I wasn't aware too but it seems so. I used to have the problem occasionally like 2-3 time outs per day but it got really worse recently. I was having about 10 time outs per 10 minutes kept getting dropped out of everywhere constantly and that's why i sat down to try and crack that nut. I think this hotfix would do it for most pepople. I was having the issue while connected to the network via a cable so i think that the issue over wireless is a different thing having to do with additional wifi functions like the BT Amp however it could be that both issues work concurrently so i think the hotfix and whatever else is applicable for wi-fi adapters and has worked so far will sove the issue but people would need to apply remediative actions for both.
