SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

The "Network Connect/ Manager" applet seems to be failing whilst connecting using Konqueror 3.5.7 "release 72.9" openSUSE 10.3 or Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; ) Am afraid I can't get any debug or java console messages to trouble shoot this problem.

I've also tried pointing to SSL VPN using Firefox 32 (http://en.opensuse.org/How_To_use_Java_with_Firefox_on_64-bit_openSuSE_10.3). No Dice !
FYI, when firefox 32 is pointed to http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml and the test is successful. Following are the results
Your Java configuration is :
Vendor ; Sun Microsystems Inc
Version ; Java 6 Update 6
Operating System : Linux

Has anyone tried this on SUSE linux ? Essentially, what's the best way to get Network Manager working ?

Hi Mat,

I can t see your platform ( 10.3 ) in the supported platform list. Check it ( in attachment ) in order to be sure that your are supported for NC and other features of the SA.

Re: SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

Am afraid its not listed in the complatablity matrix. But, then would like to torubleshoot and fix it. So, how can I enable logging to see what's really happening ?

Re: SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

Under windows there is a install.log file in the Program-File/Juniper , try to find the same under your linux Workstation, it give interresting information regarding the install of the NC module.

Re: SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

Nothing meaningful is logged in there..

..:/$> cat /home/.juniper_networks/network_connect/installnc.log
Here is the standard output of the command:

No difference found
Here is the standard error of the command (if any):

<EOF>

..:/$>

Re: SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

Hi Matvrix,

I ve just seen a similar problem with openSuse 10.3. I also got a NC issue and solve it by downgrading my JVM ( 1.6 to 1.5 ) , try it perhaps it will also solve your problem.

Re: SSL VPN using SUSE 64 linux

Downgrading the jre from 6 to 1.5 hasn't changed the result. Network connect is still not get loaded. I wish I could bring up the javaconsole to see what's really happening.

The Ubuntu gang had some success:

the thread might give you some insight into the issues (libs, permissions, etc)
