Is there a way to create a URL Link that will autostart Netconnect?
What we are trying to do is send out a notification to a user(s), and in the notification have a link that they connect on, which starts netconnect and prompts for credentials, then forwards them to the "page"...
Is that possible?
Hey Drew - not sure why you don't just setup Netconnect to auto start on login. It is the "opposite" of what you are describing, but the same end result. User gets link, hits it, logs in and Netconnect starts automatically for them.
In case this works in concept - just look at the role definitions - under NetConnect you can select auto-launch and auto-unload.
Hope this helps you.
We have "security enclaves" which are protected by the Junipers, but aren't necessarily used everyday. so when a user receives a notification that they need to attend to, which is in one of the enclaves, then we want them to be prompted to connect.
What we are trying to accomplish, is to not have the users "login" until necessary, our users may go days/weeks/months without ever having to use the SA system / netconnect.
Have you looked into the Network Connect launcher then? It is probably more in-line with what you are trying to accomplish. It is an external command line util that can be launched from scripts, etc... to start up NC and log in users.
That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Where do I find it?
If you look in the IVE-Admin Guide - under the section labeled "Network Connect" there is a write up on how to use it. I think it is one of the last elements of that section.
Glad to have been able to help out.
