Static VPN IP address assignment fromDHCP using username

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking at using DHCP for user static/reserved VPN IP address assignment.

I see this on a Pulse community forum - "By default when the Connect secure device makes a DHCP request it embeds the clients hostname, you could change this to send the username (refer admin guide and search for "DHCP options" for config instructions) and then configure DHCP server to provide the same IP each time if the request contains the same username."

Is this doable? "configure DHCP server to provide the same IP each time if the request contains the same username"? Does anyone have this configured in their environment? Some assistance on how i set this up would be greatly appreciated.

Would this be what is configured the DHCP option table in the VPN Tunneling Connection Profile? "option number=12, option value=<username><authmethod>, option type=String". What needs to be configured on the actual DHCP server to provide IP address based on the username and not mac address?

Thanks in advance
